Oxford Professional English (OPE) consists of a team of English language specialist teachers and is one part of Oxford Professional Consulting.

Alison started her career as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language. She lived and taught first in Brazil for 2 years, then in Slovenia and Croatia, then for 2 years in Egypt and finally for 6 years in Singapore. She now lives and works in Oxford, England, where she founded Oxford Professional Consulting with its specialist English department, Oxford Professional English (OPE).

Alison has extensive experience in advising clients on the best training solutions for effective international communication in English.

She has university degrees in Hispanic Studies, Education and Applied English Linguistics. She speaks several languages and has wide practical experience of international communication. Alison is a member of the Institute of Management and the International Association of Teachers of English to Foreign Learners (IATEFL).

Our Teachers

Each member of the Oxford Professional English team of Consultant Teachers is carefully selected. They each have a university degree in English or another relevant subject, as well as a specific qualification in teaching English as a foreign language. Our Consultant Teachers have 10 years or more of experience in working with business executives and professionals to help them improve use of English, increase confidence in the language and achieve individual language aims.

In addition, we have a team of Specialist Teachers with a range of different professional backgrounds, to give more variety in our programmes and meet the needs of our clients. Each of these teachers has an international track-record and either experience of working in a corporate environment or specialist knowledge and experience in a particular field. Each Specialist Teacher is well qualified to teach English, with at least 6 years' experience as an English teacher or translator, as well as a qualification in teaching English as a foreign language.

All our English language teachers have studied and speak at least one foreign language so that they know the difficulties and enjoyment of being a language learner. Across the team we have studied or speak over 20 languages.
